I AM SO LUCKY TO BE LIVING OPPOSITE SUCH A LOVELY CEMETERY. IT IS ONE OF THE LARGEST IN WALES. BEING VICTORIAN AND WAS OPENED IN 1859. THERE ARE MANY PATHWAYS FOR A PLEASANT WALK AND CONSERVATION AREA`S. FULL OF INTERESTING STORIES WITH WAR GRAVES, AND MANY IMPORTANT PEOPLE OF INTEREST BURIED THERE. FRIENDS OF THE CEMETERY , WHICH IS A GROUP OF PEOPLE, DO ALOT OF WONDERFUL THINGS THERE SUCH A HERITAGE WALKS, AND MEET ONCE A MONTH TO HAVE A WORKS DAY KEEPING IT LOOKING AS LOVELY AS IT IS. i WALK IN THERE MOST DAYS, AS I HAVE ATHRITIS AND FIND IT VERY STIMULATING AND RELAXING WALKING AROUND AND THEN SITTING ON A BENCH LISTENING TO BIRDS SINGING AWAY AND WATCHING THE SQUIRRELS CHASING ONE ANOTHER OR COLLECTING NUTS. THERE WAS AN OLD CHAPEL THAT WAS DERELICT FOR MANY YEARS IN THE GROUNDS OF THE CEMETERY, IT HAS NOW RECENTLY BEEN RESTORED AND WILL BE USED FOR CERTAIN EVENTS. i WENT TO ONE LAST NIGHT WHICH WAS AN EVENING OF ELIZABETHAN LUTE MUSIC IT WAS LOVELY. i HOPE MORE PEOPLE WILL COME AND VIEW THIS VERY LOVELY CEMETERY AND REMEMBER IT IS NOT ONLY FOR PUTTING FLOWERS ON LOVED ONES GRAVES. IT CAN BE FOUND IN OUR CAPITAL OF CARDIFF SOUTH WALES.
Captain Birdseye is my trusted land gull that I have been feeding for over 5 years. He has utmost respect for me, is very intelligent, and recognizes me instantly. He lives on the roof top opposite my ground floor flat. As soon as I open my kitchen door he looks across to me. I throw food onto my garage roof, he will eat all sorts but has favourite`s. He has a great character, and will walk up and down my outside garden wall, he knows that I will then throw some food onto the garage roof. Another funny thing that he does is seeing me sitting on my garden chair sunning myself with my eyes closed, and then he lands on the wall right above me and cries out as if to say Hello I`m here what you gonna do about it !!. I had a very small deaf white cat, who would be sitting often on my lap, and they got so used to one another, I trusted him to never hurt her, In all the years I have fed him, talked to him helped him with his young who have sadly fallen out of the next, he has never landed on the ground in my quite small little garden, or tried to take food off me when I eat any food out there on my lap. He just stays on the outside wall just above me and the garage roof. I am very fond of him. I also have smaller birds feeding off my trays, bird table etc etc, the same ones come time after time. I love nature and all animals. It is very hard for City gulls as they have been forced to come and live here as us humans have taken their natural habitat from them and alot of people just think of them as a blinking nuisance .
